CRAFTING BEER WITH A CLEANER PLANET IN MIND
At Mason Brewing Co we’re not just passionate about great beer, we’re serious about doing our bit for the planet too. In 2025 we installed solar panels paired with a 20 kW battery system so that the majority of our energy use on site is covered by clean, renewable power, reducing our reliance on the grid and cutting emissions.
Our spent grain and hops don’t go to waste — they’re sent straight to a local farmer where they become nutritious animal feed, closing the loop on brewing by-products.
We use stainless steel kegs that are built to last for decades and can be reused endlessly, unlike single-use plastic one-way kegs that end up in landfill. Because we sell the majority of our beer right here in the taproom, we avoid most of the CO₂ emissions associated with delivery vehicles — a saving that’s equivalent to the annual CO₂ absorption of 25 mature trees.
Beyond these steps, we are constantly reviewing ways to reduce water use, minimise waste, support local suppliers and make our brewery even more efficient as we continue our sustainability journey — helping keep our community and our countryside thriving with every pint.
