Our Story

Mike's love for beer bubbled over into homebrewing. The first batches were brewed in the garden with a pot, a jam thermometer and a camping stove. They weren't great but they lit a fire.

After four years honing his homebrewing knowledge Mike landed a role brewing on a 350 litre nanobrewery at Brewhouse and Kitchen Lichfield. Here he won two Silver medals at SIBA's Midlands Beer Awards and hosted a tasting for MPs at Parliament. But Cornwall was calling...

After relocating to Cornwall with Lisa & Loki, Mike was appointed Head Brewer at The Driftwood Spars Brewery in St Agnes. Here he carried on founding brewer Pete's legacy as well as introducing a range of modern craft beers. He won multiple Gold medals at SIBA's South West Beer Awards and further solidified the brewery's reputation in the South West.

Mike saw a deal on a brewkit just too good to pass up so we took the plunge and began planning what would eventually become Mason Brewing Co.

We chose Threemilestone as our home and got to work. The taproom opened it's doors in May 2024 initially serving collaboration brews we brewed with friends, the brewery began production shortly afterwards in June.

A year flew by, we held a beer and music festival to celebrate our first birthday. We hired Megan to help in the taproom and have sold over 35,000 pints, but we're not done yet!
